Many of these types of changes could have just as easily been rolled out as a software update. Note: There are a few changes in High Sierra that I felt were frankly so dull that I didn't even feel it necessary to mention. There simply aren't many improvements here, folks. THAT being said, I strongly recommend NOT upgrading until this OS is out for at least a month.Īnytime you are upgrading your Mac, you have to consider the risk/benefit factor. The biggest changes take place under the hood of your Mac and at this time it is only suggested that users with a solid state drive (SSD) even consider upgrading at this time. Both of these features may not present immediate uses but for the future they will soon come in handy. Two really key features for me is the change to the new APFS filesystem and eGPU support. While High Sierra may not look drastically different there are several background task which make it the fastest operating system Apple has ever made. MacOS High Sierra has undergone a very lengthly Beta Process which has presented us with a lot of new features.
